3D Test/3D Mark fails to run correctly when PC is connected to a Dell Monitor or TV.

In some rare cases, we have seen the 3D Test fail to run correctly or display an invalid result when a PC (typically equipped with an Nvidia GPU) is connected to certain models of Dell Monitors. Nvidia drivers may incorrectly detect the monitor as a TV rather than a monitor, and the correct output resolution may not be displayed on the monitor during various stages of the 3D Test.

Solution:

  1. Ensure your Nvidia drivers are up-to-date and are currently on the latest version for your system.
  2. If possible, connect the external display using a Display Port cable (a PC-only interface) rather than via HDMI cable.
  3. Open Nvidia control panel and under the resolution settings, select one of the 'PC' resolutions and not 'TV' resolutions.
